Before you book
If you're new to reflexology and Jikiden Reiki, I'd usually recommend starting with foot reflexology. It's the treatment I'm best known for and, for many people, it's the easiest way to experience the deep relaxation reflexology can offer.
If another treatment catches your eye, though, don't worry about getting it "right". Every treatment is tailored to you on the day, so whichever you choose, I'll make sure it supports what you need most.
There are very few occasions when a treatment could not be adapted to suit you. These include:
active blood clot(s), deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism
severe cellulitis
fever, contagious disease or infection (including active cold sores if having a facial treatment or athlete's foot, fungal nail infection or multiple verrucas if having a foot treatment)
under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs.
If you've recently had surgery or a medical procedure, please check with your GP, consultant or healthcare team that reflexology or facial massage is appropriate at this stage of your recovery, before booking. If you're unsure, feel free to get in touch and I'm happy to advise.
Yes. I'm specially trained to support women and couples trying to conceive and those undergoing assisted conception treatment, as well as twin/multiple pregnancies.
Reflexology and reiki are safe and supportive treatments to enjoy throughout pregnancy, but I only work with regular clients during their first trimester. If you’re newly pregnant and new to treatments with me, I’d be delighted to welcome you from your second trimester onwards.
If you have a history of miscarriage or a complicated pregnancy and are unsure about whether my treatments would be suitable, you are very welcome to get in touch so we can talk things through.
If you've had Botox, filler or any other non-surgical facial 'tweakment', please wait one month before booking any of my treatments that include facial reflexology. This helps ensure your results have fully settled and allows me to work safely.
The maximum user weight for my treatment couches is 150kg. If you weigh more than this, please get in touch before booking so we can discuss adapted treatment options.
My Broadstairs treatment room is on the first floor. My Sandwich treatment room is on the ground floor. There are private toilet facilities at both locations. You can find more info, including maps, directions and parking details on the 'locations' page under 'About' on the top menu.
Absolutely. Although much of my social media focuses on women's health and wellbeing, I welcome clients of all genders to my treatment rooms.
Many of my male clients come for support with stress, poor sleep, chronic pain or simply because they value having time to slow down and recharge.
Payment can be made online when you book an appointment or via cash or card when you arrive for your appointment.
Once you've booked, you'll receive a confirmation email with a link to a short online consultation form. Completing this before your first appointment allows me to begin planning your treatment in advance of your session.
When you arrive, we'll spend a few minutes chatting about how you've been feeling, what's been happening in your life and what you'd most like support with. From there, I'll guide you through the rest of the treatment, so there's nothing you need to prepare or know in advance.
Comfort is key.
For treatments that include foot reflexology, you'll remove your shoes and socks. For treatments that include facial reflexology, your face and upper neck need to be accessible.
Jikiden Reiki is carried out fully clothed, so I recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to relax.
Sheets, blankets and extra pillows are always available if you'd like them, as well as air conditioning or fan, to make sure you're comfortable throughout your treatment.
Yes, please let me know about any allergies when you complete your online consultation form before your first appointment. This allows me to choose suitable skincare products, foot balms and couch linen wherever possible.
Both of my treatment rooms are smoke-free and animal-free.
While I can't guarantee that the environment will be completely free from allergens, I'll always do my best to minimise any potential triggers and make your treatment as comfortable as possible.
Yes, you can purchase digital By Sarah Forster gift cards online. They are valid for six months from date of purchase and can be redeemed in either of my treatment room locations. They are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Please give at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment so that someone else can enjoy the time. As a small business, late cancellations can have a big impact, so appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice will incur the full charge of the booked session.
You'll receive an email reminder four days before your session, so if your plans have changed, there's plenty of time to get in touch.
